Self-Defense Seminar: Preparing for Worst-Case Scenarios

Learn to protect yourself and your loved ones in the worst-case scenarios with this seminar sponsored by Sigma Martial Arts & Fitness.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The first part of this seminar is free and available to all ages and abilities who want to learn how to defend themselves in active shooter scenarios. The second part is available for an additional fee.

PART 1: This seminar will familiarize participants with the Department of Homeland Security's Run-Hide-Fight Model, and through facilitated discussion attendees will learn how advanced preparation is the key to survival in these events.

PART 2: This second part of this seminar will focus on dealing with both handguns and long guns (i.e., shotguns or rifles) in what is referred to as Close Quarter Battle (CQB). The strategies learned will be applicable to either an active shooter event or a self-defense situation against an attacker with a firearm. The basic functions of a semi-automatic pistol, rifle, and shotgun will be covered. Participants will be taught points of reference to combat an attacker armed with either a handgun or long gun, which can be used as stand-alone techniques, or integrated into a technique the participant already knows. Participants will also learn how to spearhead a group assault against an active threat if the situation arises.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Stephen Lombardi brings his decades of experience as a police officer, U.S. Marshall, SWAT team member, martial artist, and instructor to this seminar meant for any adult wishing to learn more about how they can protect themselves and their loved ones.
